Cybersrmart lesson

On Wednesday we were learning to use AI to create an  image of our garden prototype.

On my slides you will see a photo of my prototype and the AI image and on the second slide you can see what AI can do and what AI can’t do.

Here is my slide:

Overall I found this challenging because the water bottle wouldn’t go upside down and we had to try over and over again!

Measurement Map!

Today we did a cybersmart and math lesson about Perimeter and the area of spaces in the Wesley community on Google Earth. I measured the Lovelock track, next I measured the Wesley field and lastly I measured the Wesley court.

The largest space I measured was the Lovelock track

Next was the Wesley field and the smallest is the Wesley court.

We are going to measure it in real life to see how accurate Google Earth is.

Here is a video of my google earth:

Digital Footprint

On Thursday Whaea Ocea’s group did a cybersmart and writing lesson – it was about writing a persuasive piece of writing to ask for more ways to make our school more fun or to help us with like swimming and our safety especially since we live on a island we have a lot of beaches. Also, there could be floods.

We learned about our  digital footprint this is when you add something online it stays there like this post even if I take this down this post is going to stay online.

Here is my persuasive writing

Dear Mrs Saunders,

I think our school needs a pool. Here are my reasons:

  • We can learn more safety for swimming
  • And we seniors can and maybe teach the younger.
  • We don’t have to go back and forth from their school to ours.
  • Also we don’t need to go to the swimming at there’s and pay to use there pool

Thank you

Your sincerely Antonia

I am looking forwarded to her reply thanks for reading

Tuakana-teina

On Monday Kea  did a learning experiment with Takahe. My buddies were Siva and Nate. We did some art and cooking.

First, I did art and I was colouring a star. We also had to draw stars with chalk and a wordsearch.  I did a wordsearch There were only eight words to find  then when I was done I coloured a star so we can make it in to a charm.

Next, we went to the kitchen and I made butter with rosemary. First we had to add cream to a jar with a pinch of salt and then add rosemary after that you have to tightly close the led of the jar then shake until you see the water spilt from the butter.

After, that we ate bread with butter it was so fun I was happy even siva said it too my favourite part was shaking the jar.

Planting seeds

Planting seeds

On Tuesday Kea had a learning experience where we were planting vegetables. Do you know how plants grow? Well come learn with me

First we sat on the mat so Mrs Ashley could explain what we were doing. She said that we were going to do planting, then  she showed us videos about the roots of plants and we also saw a video about how plants eat.

Next Mr Kelly’s group lined up to go outside after whaea Ocea group lined up and Mrs Ashley’s group lined up. After that, we went down and each group sat in a line and waited for our pots.

Next we got our pot and in our pot we had to add soil, seeds, water, but just a little. Then after you’re done you can sit down and let your plant have sunlight.

I felt happy but impatient because I couldn’t wait for the broccoli.

About me

In Cybersmart, we did a lesson to create an about me. First we talked about what is good to share and what is not good to share online.

  • Here are things that you can share:You can share your name but not your full name.
  • You can share where you are from
  • You can share your hobbies
  • You can share your favourite sports
  • and lastly  you can share a photo

You shouldn´t share your address or your personal information  to keep you safe online.

Here is my about me.

I found this task easy to do and it was fun.

Children should use devices

I believe that kids under 13 should use devices

Firstly  you can use it to do school work. It can help with your research.

Secondly you can use it to call family that are overseas.

Finally when you are at school it is a long day and kids could play some games to relax when the get home.

For these reasons that is why kids should be allowed to use devices.

Ph indicator test

Ph indicator test

Did you know how to test what your using? Well, it is easy.

First we were on the mat so whaea Ocea can tell us what we are going to do.

Next we got into groups of four my group was Nate, Akesa, Jordan and me. Then we got our paper and three containers then we went to our table (in the hanga area).

After we started to write our predictions our first was for lemonade we added it into the indicator (cabbage juice) but our prediction was neutral  but it was a 2 or 3 and that is acidic. So you can do it yourself.

Then what you need  is three containers and cabbage juice. Pour it in the containers and use any liquid in it and you will see the ph of it.

Overly the experiment was fun and learning new things.

Walking water

Walking water

¨Time to go to the fale so you know what your experiment¨  called Mrs Pondicherry.

Next we went to our writing groups – we got in to group of three or four. My group was Nate and Jordan.

The first instruction was to fill each cup up half with water. Next we added two drops of food colouring in each cup, so that there was a blue cup, red cup, yellow cup and green cup. Then we mixed it. We folded a paper towel in half and we put one side in one cup and the other side in the cup next to it.

After we noticed some colours came up slowly then we saw that the colour blue was like the ocean and the yellow was like the sun.

Then our group got more paper towels and rearranged the cups and did the experiment again.

Lastly we had to tidy up then we went to the sink to pour and mix the colours together and poured it into the sink and wiped the table down and threw the paper towels out.

I had fun but I wish there were more colours.
